Minister Choi Hwi-young Delivers Bouquet to Jang Hang-jun

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Choi Wooyoung met with director Jang Hang-jun, who surpassed 10 million viewers with the movie 'The King and the Man', to congratulate him. Minister Choi shared the news by releasing a photo on social media of him delivering a cake and bouquet to director Jang.

Minister Choi stated, "'The King and the Man' is a slender thread of hope and a warm blessing for our frozen film industry," emphasizing that the movie is the 25th film in Korean cinema history and the first to reach 10 million viewers in 661 days since 'The Roundup: Punishment'. He also added words of encouragement to director Jang, saying, "Who would have known that the cheerful and pure person I only knew as 'The Man Living with Kim Eun-hee' would pull off such a 'major incident'?"

Director Jang Hang-jun responded to the news of surpassing 10 million viewers with a joke, saying, "I suddenly woke up with a jolt and wish it was all a dream." The movie 'The King and the Man' surpassed 10 million viewers in approximately two years with a production cost of 10.5 billion won. This marks the 34th record overall and the 25th for a Korean film. Minister Choi extended his congratulations to director Jang, as well as the cast and crew.
