MC Mong Faces Lawsuit Storm After Provocation

Following singer MC Mong's explosive live broadcast, those mentioned are sequentially announcing legal action. In a live broadcast on May 18th, MC Mong refuted allegations against him, causing a stir by raising suspicions of an illegal gambling ring among celebrities and mentioning the market value of specific artists. He provocatively stated, "Sue me for defamation, and I'll reveal everything."

Kim Min-jong's side, who was implicated in a gambling ring with construction businessman Mr. A by MC Mong mentioning his real name, clearly stated through their legal representative that the allegations are groundless. Kim Min-jong's side expressed, "I am deeply concerned that my name has been brought up amidst various stories, causing worry and confusion to many," emphasizing that the current claims are untrue. They also announced their stance to pursue civil and criminal legal responsibility for any necessary aspects after verifying the facts. YouTuber Caracula has also filed a lawsuit against MC Mong for defamation by false accusation and is seeking 100 million won in damages. Caracula refuted MC Mong's remarks during the live broadcast, which suggested that Caracula posted a video of an affair between himself and a person named Cha, then deleted it after receiving money, stating, "​We have received no such tip-offs, nor have we produced or posted any related videos."

Nomus, an artist intellectual property (IP) solutions company, has also taken strong legal action, calling the claims made by Chairman Cha Ga-won, MC Mong, and other One Hundred personnel "groundless." Nomus fully denied allegations of collusion in a management takeover or breach of contract, and stated that they are proceeding with criminal charges against One Hundred personnel for violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc., due to the spread of false information.
