13 years have passed since Sung In-kyu, a former member of the group A'st1, passed away. He died on February 22, 2013, at the age of 24 after battling thymic cancer.
Sung In-kyu's battle with cancer first became known in 2011. At the time, he revealed through his mini-hompy that he was experiencing chest pain and, after a medical examination, was diagnosed with stage 2 thymic cancer, with the cancer having spread to his neck.

He underwent six rounds of chemotherapy but was told that surgery was too risky. Although singing became difficult, he was determined not to give up on his dreams, but sadly passed away.
The late Sung In-kyu began his entertainment career as a child actor, appearing in SBS's "Yeonin Sidae" and KBS 2TV's "Growth Drama Banollim 2." He later debuted in the music industry as a member of the group A'st1 in 2008, but the group disbanded the following year.
