Singer and actress Lee Hye-young has been embroiled in animal abuse controversy after posting a video of herself drawing on her pet dog's face with cosmetics. Although the video has since been deleted, Lee Hye-young chose to offer a quiet explanation by releasing photos of her dog looking clean and well, without a separate apology or clarification.

On the 25th, Lee Hye-young uploaded a video on her social media with the caption, "Thanks to you, I had fun," featuring her pet dog. In the video, the dog's face was adorned with eyeliner, blush, and heart-shaped drawings.

Netizens who saw the video reacted critically, stating things like "Does it make sense to draw on a voiceless animal?", "That's also abuse," and "You shouldn't treat living beings like toys," pointing out that it constituted animal abuse.

As the controversy spread, Lee Hye-young deleted the post and subsequently released photos of her dog looking clean on the 27th. However, some expressed disappointment, noting that no apology or official statement was issued.
