Stage greetings for Park Ji-hoon and Jang Hang-jun

The film "The King and the Man" is holding a stage greeting to express gratitude for its box office success, having surpassed 13 million viewers. The stage greeting, scheduled for this afternoon (the 17th) at Megabox COEX in Seoul, is expected to be attended by director Jang Hang-jun and actors Yoo Hae-jin, Park Ji-hoon, Yoo Ji-tae, Jeon Mi-do, Kim Min, Lee Joon-hyuk, Kim Su-jin, and Park Ji-yoon.

"The King and the Man" tells the story of a village chief who volunteers for exile to revitalize his village and a young former king who was ousted from the throne, set in Cheongnyeongpo in 1457. The film was directed by Jang Hang-jun and stars Yoo Hae-jin, Park Ji-hoon, Yoo Ji-tae, and Jeon Mi-do.

The movie is continuing its box office success, creating a nationwide "Wang-sa-nam" craze. The director and actors plan to spend a meaningful time with the audience, offering thanks and gifts. Upon the announcement of the stage greeting attendance, tickets for the scheduled screening sold out within one minute, proving the immense interest.

As of the 16th, "The King and the Man" has drawn 13.46 million viewers, marking the highest attendance for a Korean film released since the COVID-19 pandemic. This ranks it fifth among all-time Korean film box office records and seventh overall in box office history.

Actor Kim Nam-gil discussed his next project, "Mongyudo Won-do," and mentioned its connection to the success of "The King and the Man." He played the role of Sejo in "The King and the Man" and explained that his own film also features characters like Danjong and Prince Anpyeong.
