K-pop Group SeeYa Reunites, Drops First New Song

The popular 2000s female vocal group SeeYa (Nam Gyuri, Kim Yeonji, Lee Boram) has made a full group comeback after 15 years to celebrate their 20th debut anniversary. On March 30th at 6 PM, SeeYa resumed activities by releasing their pre-release single "​Despite It All, We." The song has entered the top ranks of major domestic music charts, receiving a passionate response.

Immediately after the new song's release, at 7 PM on the 30th, SeeYa held their first fan meeting "RE:BLOOM" at Ideulse in Jongno-gu, Seoul. During the fan meeting, the members recreated choreography from their past hit songs and passionately performed their new song, sharing a touching time with their fans. Nam Gyuri was moved to tears by overwhelming emotions even before singing. Fans also showed their unwavering support by waving pink balloons.

SeeYa's reunion was also highlighted on the SBS show "My Little Old Boy," which aired the previous day, the 29th. The episode depicted Nam Gyuri inviting members Kim Yeonji and Lee Boram to her home to celebrate their 20th debut anniversary. This scene brought both joy and nostalgia to viewers.

The pre-release single "Despite It All, We" was composed by producer Park Geun-tae, who also composed SeeYa's hit songs, and the members directly participated in writing the lyrics. The song is an emotional ballad that captures the longing and apologies the members couldn't convey to their fans during their 15-year hiatus, as well as the miraculous moment of reuniting. It is known that the members shed tears multiple times during the recording process as they immersed themselves in the lyrics.

Starting with the release of their new song and fan meeting, SeeYa plans to release a full-length album, their first in 15 years, in May, with the participation of producers Park Geun-tae and Kim Do-hoon. The members have expressed their ambition to evoke nostalgia for fans from their active days and showcase the charm of authentic ballads to newer generations. Furthermore, the members have shown their determination to create their own music and stories by directly establishing a project corporation called "SeeYa Company" solely for group activities, with Nam Gyuri serving as CEO.
