The movie "King and the Man" is continuing its box office success, recording record-breaking audience numbers even in its fourth week of release.

On Saturday, the 28th of last month alone, it drew 655,717 viewers, bringing the cumulative audience to 7,667,218. This figure is similar to the Lunar New Year holiday period in its second week of release, showing a phenomenon of almost no decrease in audience numbers.

The film has maintained approximately 200,000 viewers on weekdays, benefiting from the Lunar New Year and Samiljeol (Independence Movement Day) holidays. With the 8 million viewer mark expected to be surpassed on March 1st, the 26th day of its release, breaking 10 million viewers also appears to be a matter of time.

On the morning of Samiljeol, the advance ticket reservation rate reached 73%, with over 450,000 tickets reserved.

"King and the Man" is set in Cheongnyeongpo in 1457 and depicts the life in Yeongwol of village chief Eom Heung-do (Yoo Hae-jin), who volunteered to be exiled for the sake of his village's prosperity, and the young former king Lee Hong-wi (Park Ji-hoon), who was dethroned and exiled.
