IOI Reunion Title Suddenly Announced

I.O.I, reuniting after 9 years, will make their comeback with the release of their third mini-album, 'I.O.I : LOOP,' on May 19th. This album will feature a total of six tracks, with the title track being 'Suddenly.' 'Suddenly' is a synth-pop genre song that delicately expresses the waves of longing that rush in without warning, and member Jeon Somi participated in the lyrics. In addition to the title track, the members contributed to the lyrics and composition of other songs, adding meaning to their 10th anniversary. Jeon Somi participated in the pop dance track 'IOI (Where My Girls At),' Yoo Yeonjung in the rock-sounding 'IF I,' and Chung Ha in the ballad track 'That Time, Us, Now.' Also included are 'SPF 100+,' an Afrobeat genre song depicting summer memories, and an archival track 'Smiling Goodbye,' recorded in 2016 and produced by Jinyoung.

I.O.I debuted in 2016 through Mnet's survival audition program 'Produce 101' and has reunited to celebrate their 10th anniversary this year. Kang Mina and Zhou Jieqiong will not be participating due to scheduled commitments, and the group will promote as a 9-member unit consisting of Im Nayoung, Chung Ha, Kim Sejeong, Jung Chaeyeon, Kim Sohye, Yoo Yeonjung, Choi Yoojung, Kim Doyeon, and Jeon Somi. I.O.I will release a pre-release single on May 4th and their third mini-album at 6 PM on May 19th. Following this, they plan to meet fans by holding a solo concert at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Seoul from May 29th to 31st.

Meanwhile, Jeon Somi, a member of I.O.I, recently shared her thoughts on the group's reunion in an interview. Jeon Somi stated, "Next year marks I.O.I's 10th anniversary. As we reach our 10th year, I want to do what we've been wishing for," adding, "We are already discussing plans for next year's activities. We are talking about events in a positive direction." She also commented on her solo activities, preparations for I.O.I's reunion, and managing her personal YouTube channel, saying, "I've sorted things out and am confident that there will be no issues."

In relation to this, a preview for MBC's 'Radio Star' showed Jeon Somi of I.O.I and Lee Daehwi of Wanna One engaging in a playful rivalry ahead of their reunion comeback, drawing attention. Jeon Somi said, "We've reunited for our 10th-anniversary album. We're just waiting for the seal to be broken," while Lee Daehwi showcased his presence by singing Wanna One's 'Pick Me.' Both artists announced their reunion news around the same time, bringing joy to fans. I.O.I will release their third mini-album 'I.O.I : LOOP' on May 19th and hold a concert, while Wanna One is set to launch their new reality show 'Wanna One Go: Back to Base' on May 28th.
