Hong Jin-kyung: Choi Jin-sil's Children's Guardian

Entertainer Hong Jin-kyung candidly shared her life story during the first episode of MBC's variety show 'Sora and Jin-kyung,' reuniting with Lee So-ra after 15 years.

Hong Jin-kyung revealed that she went through many significant events over the past 15 years, including marriage, childbirth, battling cancer, and divorce. She particularly shared her experience of undergoing six rounds of chemotherapy, confessing that there were times during the treatment when she felt so exhausted that she wanted to give up on life.

Lee So-ra offered sincere comfort to Hong Jin-kyung, who stated that she has now fully recovered and is healthy after overcoming those difficult times.

Furthermore, Hong Jin-kyung expressed her special feelings for Hwan-hee and Jun-hee, the children of the late Choi Jin-sil. She said that although they didn't meet often, she always tried to be there for the children with the intention of consistently looking out for them from the beginning, which resonated deeply.

Hong Jin-kyung was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2013 and battled the illness for about two years before receiving a clean bill of health. She married in 2003 and had a daughter, but announced her divorce last year.
