Park Ji Yoon Rumors: Choi Dong Seok Speculation

Reports have emerged that Choi Dong-seok, a former KBS announcer, is under police investigation for allegedly spreading malicious rumors about his ex-wife, Park Ji-yoon, amidst their divorce proceedings. The Seogwipo Police Station in Jeju is investigating Choi Dong-seok on charges of defamation against Park Ji-yoon. It is understood that Park Ji-yoon's side filed multiple lawsuits against individuals who posted malicious content and rumors online last year, and during this process, Choi Dong-seok's identity was confirmed, leading to his inclusion as one of the suspects. However, the police stated that they could not confirm specific details as the matter is under investigation.

Choi Dong-seok's side claimed that they had not received any official contact regarding the charges and had only been contacted as a witness. Conversely, Choi Dong-seok's side countered by stating that they had been investigated as a plaintiff after an acquaintance of Park Ji-yoon posted defamatory remarks about Choi Dong-seok.

Park Ji-yoon and Choi Dong-seok, who met as fellow KBS announcers in the 30th class, married in 2009 and have one son and one daughter. After news of their separation broke in October 2023, they have been undergoing divorce proceedings. Conflicts have continued, including the filing of lawsuits for adultery by both parties. Previously, the adultery lawsuits filed separately by Park Ji-yoon and Choi Dong-seok in July and September 2024 were dismissed in January of this year. However, Choi Dong-seok's side appealed this decision, and appellate proceedings are currently underway.

In November 2023, Park Ji-yoon had already taken strong action against malicious online posts by filing defamation lawsuits against one netizen who spread false information related to infidelity rumors that arose during the divorce, and four YouTubers who uploaded related videos. At the time, Park Ji-yoon's agency, JDB Entertainment, stated that despite remaining silent about the reasons for the divorce to protect their children's well-being, they had confirmed that malicious rumors and false information were being spread indiscriminately. The agency announced that they had consulted with their legal representatives to file criminal charges and would take legal action without any settlement or leniency.
