Ryu Jin's son, Chan Hyung, accepted to Berkeley

Actor Ryu Jin's eldest son, Chan-hyung, has been accepted into the Berklee College of Music in the United States. Ryu Jin and his wife, Lee Hye-sun, shared this joyful news through the YouTube channel 'Woman DongA'.

Ryu Jin stated that his son's choice of music was "unexpected," adding, "​What was more surprising than the fact that he got into college was his choice." He expressed his pride in his son's "​tendency to pursue something to the end once he's set his mind to it," and that he ultimately achieved it.

Lee Hye-sun revealed that Chan-hyung only applied to one university. She explained, "​Rather than preparing with a specific school in mind from the beginning, he chose Berklee after carefully considering the school that best suited him." She also added that although they were anxious because it was their first time navigating the US college application process, their son's strong determination led to a good outcome.

In the past, Ryu Jin revealed that Chan-hyung had received multiple idol offers from the top three entertainment agencies in Korea, but he had rejected them all at the time to respect his son's dream of becoming a doctor. Amidst various options, Chan-hyung ultimately chose the path of music and achieved acceptance into Berklee.

Chan-hyung has been accepted into the Music Business Leadership program at Berklee College of Music and is scheduled to enroll this August. Ryu Jin married flight attendant Lee Hye-sun in 2006 and they have two sons, Chan-hyung and Chan-ho. He previously appeared on MBC's 'Dad! Where Are We Going?' and received much love from viewers.
