Ko Younjung Takes on Park Hae-young Persona

Actress Go Youn-jung is set to attempt a new acting transformation by collaborating with writer Park Hae-young. Go Youn-jung has established herself as a top-tier actress in domestic casting by showcasing impressive performances in numerous works such as 'Sweet Home,' 'Law School,' 'Hunt,' 'Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow,' 'Moving,' 'When This Is All Over, A Doctor's Life,' and 'Will This Love Translate?' Now, she will join forces with writer Park Hae-young, known for her rich portrayal of female characters, in the new JTBC Saturday-Sunday drama 'Everyone is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness' (hereinafter referred to as 'Fighting Worthlessness').

'Fighting Worthlessness' tells the story of Hwang Dong-man (played by Gu Kyo-hwan), who has been preparing to debut as a film director for 20 years, and Byun Eun-ah (played by Go Youn-jung), a PD at the film company Choe Film. Byun Eun-ah is a character who discovers the charm of the pure Hwang Dong-man, who has a different disposition from others, and deeply explores his inner self. The drama is expected to depict the growth of two unique individuals, who were isolated from the world, as they perfectly fit together.

Writer Park Hae-young has a talent for healing the inner wounds of human beings and conveying warm humanity through 'My Mister' and 'My Liberation Notes,' and she has shown a remarkable ability to unleash the hidden potential of actresses. IU (Lee Ji-eun) and Kim Ji-won have also been praised for taking their acting careers to the next level through their work with writer Park Hae-young.

This 'Fighting Worthlessness' is expected to be a significant turning point in Go Youn-jung's acting career. Previously, Go Youn-jung, who has primarily exuded a glamorous and dynamic energy across genres like thrillers, fantasy, and romantic comedies, must now showcase extremely realistic and dense emotional acting within writer Park Hae-young's worldview. The biggest challenge of this project will be how she portrays the unadorned reality of Byun Eun-ah, who sheds all pretense and battles her inner melancholy.

Fortunately, Go Youn-jung's co-star is Gu Kyo-hwan. Gu Kyo-hwan perfectly embodies everything from understated everyday acting to intensely stylized theatrical performances, possessing the ability to capture the metaphor of a work or fill in the gaps not present in the script with ad-libs.
