Actress Goo Hye-sun's hair roller product, 'Kurool,' in which she directly participated in development, has launched, sparking an online debate over its price.

'Kurool' is being sold for 13,000 won per unit and 25,000 won for a set of two. Compared to typical hair rollers sold for a few hundred to a thousand won, some argue the price is high. Some netizens reacted by saying, "It's burdensome," and "It's similar to the price of rechargeable hair rollers."

On the other hand, there are opinions that the price is understandable considering the product development process and technology. Goo Hye-sun was directly involved in the entire process, including planning, design, naming, and branding, and developed it with researchers from the KAIST Graduate School of Science Journalism. This product implements a 'self-restoring' function without separate heat or electrical devices and was selected for the Excellent Patent Award.

Customers generally seem satisfied with the product itself, but many express disappointment regarding the price. Reviews include comments like, "I thought the size was adjustable, but it only folds and unfolds, which is disappointing," and "The high price is a drawback, but its small size makes it good for portability."

Goo Hye-sun views the launch of 'Kurool' not just as a product launch but as "work that expands the phenomenology of K-culture," explaining it as "​a product that contains a narrative of a unique landscape only seen in Korean society."
