BLACKPINK's Jisoo is embarking on a new acting challenge in the Netflix romantic comedy series "Monthly Boyfriend." Having consistently built acting experience in previous projects, Jisoo will play the role of webtoon PD 'Seo Mirae' in this series, portraying a character who grows through a virtual dating subscription service.

"Monthly Boyfriend" tells the story of Mirae, a webtoon PD weary of reality, who grows by experiencing various kinds of love through a virtual dating subscription service. 'Seo Mirae,' played by Jisoo, struggles with work and the wounds of past relationships before coincidentally trying the 'Monthly Boyfriend' service, which leads her to reflect on her life and love.

This work deals with the intriguing subject of a virtual dating subscription service that offers 900 themed dates. The premise, where one can access a virtual world and experience desired romantic relationships simply by wearing a device, offers a relatable imagination for modern people tired of reality.

Seo In-guk, who will be acting alongside Jisoo, plays 'Park Kyungnam,' Mirae's colleague. He is an ace at work but an enigmatic figure to Mirae. The two become "late-night workmates" as they take on competing projects, forming a relationship that oscillates between subtle tension and excitement.

Director Kim Jung-sik stated, "Although the setting is fantastical, the story is one that could plausibly happen in reality," and praised Jisoo, saying she is "an actress who made me realize that effort can overcome talent." He also commented on Seo In-guk, saying, "Once you finish the drama, you'll immediately understand why 'Kyungnam' had to be Seo In-guk."
