Kim Seon Ho Filming 'God's Blessing'

Actors Kim Seon-ho, Kim Yun-seok, and Ahn Eun-jin have confirmed their appearances in tvN's new drama "​The Legislator's Blessing" and will begin filming next week. The drama is based on a popular web novel of the same name and tells the story of Gu Young-jin (played by Kim Yun-seok), a six-term National Assembly member who, after his death, travels back in time to 1998, ten years prior, and shakes up the National Assembly with 9th-grade public official Cha Jae-rim (played by Kim Seon-ho). Kim Seon-ho will play Cha Jae-rim, who has the ability to see ghosts, and will appear in the political arena with the ghost of Gu Young-jin to confront the living Assembly member Gu Young-jin. Kim Yun-seok will portray Gu Young-jin, who returns to the past as a ghost after his downfall, and Ahn Eun-jin will make a special appearance as Gu Seung-hee, Gu Young-jin's daughter. The drama is a collaboration between director Park Shin-woo, who directed "Jealousy Incarnate" and "It's Okay to Not Be Okay," and writer Kwon Jong-kwan of "Confession."

Kim Seon-ho will also join the Coupang Play variety show "Bonjour Bakery." This healing variety program is set in a senior dessert cafe run in a rural village, and he will appear alongside Kim Hee-ae and Cha Seung-won, with filming scheduled for the first half of the year. Kim Seon-ho debuted in the 2009 play "New Boeing Boeing" and gained popularity through dramas like "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha." He recently appeared in the Netflix drama "Can We Translate Love?" and has upcoming projects including "The Beholder" and "The Legislator's Blessing." Expectations are high for his performance in "Bonjour Bakery," his first fixed variety show appearance in about five years.

Recently, Kim Seon-ho was embroiled in allegations of tax evasion related to the establishment and operation of a family corporation. In response, his agency, SALT Entertainment, explained that the corporation was established for theater production and related activities, and not for intentional tax avoidance or evasion. However, controversy continues regarding the corporation's operational methods and settlement structure. These controversies have led to negative public opinion regarding Kim Seon-ho's casting as the lead in his upcoming drama "The Legislator's Blessing." Among fans of the original work, concerns have been raised that it could burden the project.

Amidst the tax evasion allegations surrounding Kim Seon-ho, Go Youn-jung's release of behind-the-scenes photos from the filming of the Netflix series "Can We Translate Love?" in which she co-starred with Kim Seon-ho, became controversial due to its timing. The photos included couple shots of Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung. The agency reiterated that the corporation was established for theater production and is currently undergoing dissolution procedures. Kim Seon-ho has multiple projects scheduled for release, including the drama "Unfriended" and the Disney+ original series "The Beholder," in addition to "The Legislator's Blessing." Concerns have also been raised that the current controversy could affect viewer immersion in these works.
