On May 5th, Korean stars including the full group BLACKPINK, aespa's Karina and Ningning, Ahn Hyo-seop, and Jung Ho-yeon attended the 'Costume Institute Benefit' (Met Gala) held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, USA, gracing the event with their presence. The Met Gala, which began in 1948, is an annual event organized by fashion magazine 'Vogue'. It is a global fashion event that combines fashion, art, and culture, and also serves as a charity fundraising event, earning it the nickname 'the Oscars of fashion'. aespa's Karina showcased a harmony of modern and traditional elements by wearing a white dress adorned with elaborate beading, paired with a black cape reminiscent of a dopo (traditional Korean robe). This custom Prada look was a modern reinterpretation of the traditional Korean garment 'durumagi' and the 'collar of hanbok', which overseas media interpreted as a masterpiece of 'Cultural Translation'. Ningning presented a bold yet sophisticated look in a black dress with voluminous ruffle details.

This Met Gala proved that K-content's status in the global fashion scene is evolving into a 'source of creation'.
