BTS Mexico Concert Draws 50,000 Fans

The group BTS met with the President of Mexico and received a commemorative plaque from the Mexican government. The Mexican government honored BTS as "distinguished guests," and the plaque stated that they inspired Mexican youth and contributed to community building through their music. BTS had a conversation with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum for about 40 minutes and appeared on the presidential palace balcony to greet approximately 50,000 fans and citizens. Fans welcomed them, holding signs that read, "BTS is always in the heart of Mexico."

President Sheinbaum introduced BTS's music as conveying messages of friendship, peace, and love. She posted on her personal social media, "​I sincerely welcome BTS, one of the most beloved groups among Mexican youth," and "​Music and values unite Mexico and Korea."

BTS's visit to Mexico is also generating significant economic expectations. The Mexico City Chamber of Commerce estimates that the concerts will have an economic ripple effect of approximately $107.5 million (about 155.7 billion Korean won).

BTS held concerts in Mexico City on the 7th and from the 9th to the 10th, with all three performances completely sold out.
