As "The Man Who Lives with the King" surpasses 12 million viewers and continues its box office success, the behind-the-scenes story, including the considerations of Park Si-young, CEO of Studio Bitnaneun, who participated in the movie poster work, has been revealed.

CEO Park Si-young stated that he pursued "simplicity" in the main poster work. He explained that due to the nature of the drama genre, it was difficult to express the complex relationship between the two characters in a single image, but following the distributor's opinion, he judged that "​simply showing the relationship between the two people" was sufficient.

Some audience members reacted that the poster, which depicted the two characters heading out on a raft, was a 'spoiler,' and this was CEO Park Si-young's intention. He mentioned that due to a lack of resources for poster shooting, he took a brief moment during the movie's filming to capture the images. He also had concerns about the setting of Lee Hong-wi (played by Park Ji-hoon) wearing a royal robe, but he worked based on the provided images.

CEO Park Si-young revealed that he proceeded with the poster work by interpreting the scene of Lee Hong-wi crossing the river in a royal robe as "the river he finally crosses, embraced by Eom Heung-do at the end." He said that this interpretation lent credibility to the image of Lee Hong-wi in a royal robe on the raft with a smiling Eom Heung-do.

Additionally, the poster that captured the contrasting appearances of the two characters standing before the place of exile focused on "naturalness." CEO Park Si-young explained that he strived to select "​appropriately awkward and hesitant shots" rather than a feeling of actors forcing poses, judging that it would not be good to excessively reveal emotions from the beginning of the movie.
