ITZY Proves Themselves with 'Wannabe'

The group ITZY revealed that they have learned how to choose themselves as they release their new mini-album, 'Motto'. This album contains a message of affirming the possibilities they have pioneered, rather than the gaze of others.

ITZY is releasing a new album approximately six months after 'TUNNEL VISION', which was released last November. This release comes amidst their world tour that began in February of this year and the viral challenge for the B-side track 'THAT'S A NO NO'.

This album is a record of the intimate thoughts of protecting one's self behind the facade of a dazzling idol. The title track 'Motto' sings of the conviction towards the person who illuminated them when they stood at the edge of the world, and contains a declaration of believing in their own choices.

Through their thoughts on the comeback, the members revealed their inner growth. Leader Yeji stated, "I wanted to break the mold I had set for myself and give myself more options more freely," while Lia emphasized, "the steadfastness of believing in myself rather than doubting myself in repetitive everyday situations."

Ryujin said, "After going through a period of wavering amidst countless gazes, I now embrace the world broadly with my own core and standards." Chaeryeong shared, "I realized that it's most important to understand and observe myself more delicately than before and not lose myself," and Yuna described their fandom 'MIDZY' as a "lighthouse that has allowed me not to fear challenges."
