Ravi Drops New Song After Military Service Scandal

Ravi, formerly of the group VIXX, has resumed his activities by releasing a new song titled 'Nyeok' approximately three years after suspending his career due to allegations of military service fraud. This new song is his first release in about four years, since 'Outdated Dance' in October 2022.

The new digital single 'Nyeok' is a hip-hop track with a lyrical atmosphere that expresses the various emotions and times encountered in the flow of life through Ravi's unique perspective. Ravi added the following to the song's description: "The boy never forgot, his voyage for tomorrow."

In 2023, while serving as a public service worker, Ravi was indicted on charges of attempting to evade military service by colluding with a military service broker, feigning epilepsy, and submitting a false medical certificate. As a result, he also left his group VIXX.

Ravi was sentenced to one year in prison, suspended for two years, in both the first and second trials, and the sentence was finalized as he did not appeal. He stated that he made a foolish choice because he was urgently seeking to postpone his service due to the burden of penalty fees, as his contract fulfillment was being delayed while he was the only artist generating income in his agency at the time. He had been postponing his service due to a past illness, and reached a point where further postponement was difficult.

After being discharged on December 13th of last year, Ravi took to social media in March of this year to apologize once again to those hurt by his wrongdoings, stating that he would continuously learn and discipline himself to live as a better person in the future.
