Ok Hee's Funeral, Hong Soo Hwan Bids Farewell

Singer Ok Hui (real name Kim Kwang-sook, 73) passed away after battling cancer. Her wake is being held at Room 22 of the Asan Medical Center Funeral Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul, and she passed away on the afternoon of the 20th. The funeral procession will be on the 24th, and she will be laid to rest at Hambaeksan Memorial Park.

The Korea Singers Association will hold the funeral ceremony for the deceased at 10 AM on the 24th at the Asan Medical Center Funeral Hall in Pungnap-dong, Seoul. The ceremony will be conducted in a Christian worship format according to the deceased's faith. Association president Park Sang-chul will deliver a eulogy, and an association director will read a tribute. Following an introduction of the deceased's biography and a screening of a video from her life, there will be a flower offering and incense burning.

Hong Soo-hwan, her husband and former boxer, along with fellow singers from the music industry, will attend the funeral ceremony to bid farewell to the deceased on her final journey.

The Korea Singers Association mourned, stating, "The legacy of the deceased, who dedicated herself to the development of popular music and delivered inspiration and comfort to countless citizens, will be remembered for a long time."

Ok Hui passed away on the 20th after battling kidney cancer. She debuted in the late 1960s as the leader of the five-member girl group 'Seoul Sisters'. After transitioning to a solo career in 1974, she led the popular music scene in the 1970s with hit songs such as 'I Don't Know' and 'Neighborly Friend'.
