MC Mong Denies Cha Ga Won Affair Rumors

Rapper MC Mong has fully denied allegations raised on MBC's investigative journalism program 'PD Notebook,' including rumors of an affair with Cha Ga-won, chairman of One Hundred, illegal overseas gambling suspicions, and unpaid settlement controversies. On the 3rd, MC Mong addressed the 'PD Notebook' broadcast content via a live broadcast on his social media, stating, "I feel exhausted, so how must the public feel?"

In its broadcast on the 2nd, 'PD Notebook' aired a segment titled 'MC Mong and Chairman's K-pop Business Secrets,' revealing text messages between MC Mong and Cha Ga-won that were exposed by Cha's uncle, Mr. A. The messages contained shocking content such as, "I dated Ga-won. I decided to date her after much deliberation three years ago," "​Even though she was married, I dated her because she said she was getting a divorce, and I was grateful for how much she cared for and protected me," and "​I gambled like a man, and I gambled with Cha Ga-won, and Ga-won even paid off those gambling debts."

MC Mong claimed these were "doctored KakaoTalk messages" and stated, "​PD Notebook should have verified the truth of those KakaoTalk messages with me, at the very least." Regarding the trip to Las Vegas, he countered, "​The company CEO, vice president, and all the staff went together. If it were a honeymoon trip, why would all the staff go together?" He also claimed the photos of the messages were reused photos that had already been subject to provisional disposition by the court.

MC Mong also strongly denied the illegal overseas gambling allegations, saying, "​The interviews with taxi drivers and restaurant staff are all just speculation. I will not tolerate this. It's like killing someone." Concerning the unpaid settlement controversy involving artists under One Hundred Label, he explained, "​It happened after I was kicked out of the company."

Ahead of the 'PD Notebook' broadcast, MC Mong had announced a legal lawsuit worth 100 billion won against the production team. He stated, "​I will file a lawsuit worth 100 billion won, holding MBC responsible for taking away my life by reporting as fact the money I repaid a friend's shopping mall investment 18 years ago as if it were payment for extracted teeth."
