Im Hyung-joo Revealed as Popera House CEO

It has been confirmed that popera tenor Lim Hyung-joo is operating as the CEO of Seoul Popera House. Lim Hyung-joo has held the position of CEO of Seoul Popera House, a corporation involved in real estate management and performance operations, from June 2025 to the present. The address of this corporation matches the Seoul Popera House building where a subcontract payment dispute occurred, and Lim Hyung-joo is listed as the CEO on the official website.

The Seoul Popera House corporation was established in February 2024 as 'Hannamwon Co., Ltd.' and changed its name to 'Seoul Popera House Co., Ltd.' in June of the same year. During this process, the address was moved to the current building, and Lim Hyung-joo was appointed CEO. The auditor is Mr. Lim, Lim Hyung-joo's younger brother.

The point at which the subcontractor won a lawsuit for construction costs against the real estate development corporation Emblaverd was in October of last year, when Lim Hyung-joo concurrently held the positions of CEO of Seoul Popera House and inside director of Emblaverd. Mr. Cho, who was the CEO of Emblaverd, handed over the CEO position to Lim Hyung-joo and was listed as an inside director. This suggests that the executives of the corporation that owns the building and the corporation that operates it are essentially composed of the same individuals.

According to information from Lim Hyung-joo's agency, performance facilities such as 'Lim Hyung-joo Hall' and 'Sally Garden Theater' have already been established in the building. Lim Hyung-joo himself has introduced the building on broadcasts as "a four-story building of 442 pyeong that I built myself."

This structure is analyzed as leaving the subcontract debt of approximately 800 million won to the owning corporation (Emblaverd), while the operating corporation (Seoul Popera House), headed by Lim Hyung-joo, takes in the revenue from performance rentals and artistic business generated by the building.
