K-Pop Group SECRET Returns After 12 Years

Girl group Secret is resuming activities after 12 years. RBW announced that Secret plans to re-debut as a three-member group, led by existing members Jeon Hyosung and Jung Hana, with new members recruited. Comprehensive content company RBW will be in charge of producing this comeback. Song Jieun will not participate in this activity.

Since their debut in 2009, Secret established themselves as a representative girl group of the second generation, releasing numerous hit songs such as 'Magic', 'Madonna', and 'Starlight Moonlight'. After their 5th mini-album 'SECRET SUMMER' in 2014, there were no new song activities, and in 2016, member Han Sunhwa left the group, reorganizing into a trio. Subsequently, with their former agency TS Entertainment going out of business, group activities had effectively ceased.

Fan reactions to the news of Secret's comeback are mixed. Some fans are expressing negative opinions, such as "It would have been better to promote as a unit" and "It would have been better to persuade Song Jieun rather than recruiting new members." On the other hand, there are also many voices welcoming their return, saying, "It's a shame Song Jieun isn't participating, but I support them" and "It will be more beneficial to promote by recruiting new members than not promoting at all."

It is known that Secret plans to reintroduce their existing hit songs in a '2026 version' through this comeback. Expectations are rising regarding the synergy Jeon Hyosung and Jung Hana will show with the newly joined members, and what musical transformation they will present in their comeback after 12 years.
