Han Ga Ram (Han Eun Jung) Officially Changes Name

Actress Handa Gam has announced her complete name change. This signifies the completion of her legal name change process. Handa Gam debuted in 1999 under her birth name Han Eun-jung, and in 2018, on her 20th anniversary since debut, she changed her stage name to Handa Gam.

Handa Gam previously mentioned the reason for her name change on broadcast, revealing that she had suffered from health issues due to a fall accident at the age of 7 which caused injuries all over her body. The symptoms worsened from the age of 20, leading to a twisted neck and back, and pelvic pain severe enough that she couldn't even board an airplane. Amidst these difficulties, she visited a temple and received a recommendation from a monk to change her name.

Initially, she hesitated about changing her stage name but decided to boldly change her legal name. After the name change, she confessed that she feels healthier now than at any other point in her life, and that she has become able to overcome difficulties.

Meanwhile, Handa Gam married a businessman one year her senior in 2020, and recently announced her pregnancy, receiving much congratulation. Regarding becoming the oldest pregnant woman in the entertainment industry at the age of 47, she expressed her determination, stating, "I will be even more careful and cautious as I embark on my second life." Her due date is this autumn. Handa Gam is currently focusing on prenatal care and rest at her traditional Korean house in Sejong City.
