The musical 'Heij' is set against the backdrop of the event where special envoys were dispatched to The Hague in 1907 under King Gojong's secret orders. Song Il-gook plays the role of 'Yi Sang-seol,' anchoring the play. He added that as an actor, this production has been "a great challenge, and I am learning a lot," noting, "Because the songs are difficult, it wasn't easy to keep up with the juniors."

Song Il-gook married in 2008 and has three sons, Daehan, Minguk, and Manse. The father and sons received great love for their appearance on the KBS 2TV show 'The Return of Superman.' The musical 'Heij' commemorates the 120th anniversary of the dispatch of the Hague special envoys and is currently being performed at NOL Byunflax Hall 1 in Daehangno.
