Kim Geonwoo Pauses Alpha Drive One Activities

ALPHA DRIVE ONE member Kim Geon-woo will halt activities following controversy over inappropriate remarks made during content filming. Kim Geon-woo will be absent from all activities for the time being, and the group will continue to promote as a seven-member unit.

His agency, Wakeone, released an official statement on the 8th, stating, "Kim Geon-woo expressed his dissatisfaction in the form of a monologue without realizing his microphone was on during content filming before his debut. While it was not a criticism or personal attack directed at a specific individual, it was an inappropriate remark under any circumstances." Wakeone apologized for causing concern to the staff and fans and announced that Kim Geon-woo is deeply reflecting and will take time for self-reflection.

Previously, allegations arose online that Kim Geon-woo made inappropriate remarks towards staff during pre-debut content filming, and the fandom demanded confirmation of the facts. At the time the allegations were raised, the agency did not issue a clear statement, but later explained that he had apologized to the production team immediately after the incident and that the matter was resolved through mutual communication. They also added that the clarification of their position was delayed due to various false allegations being spread online.

ALPHA DRIVE ONE will continue to promote as a seven-member group without Kim Geon-woo, and he will also be absent from the fan concert scheduled for June. However, broadcasts and some content that were filmed and produced before his hiatus will be released as scheduled.

ALPHA DRIVE ONE is an eight-member rookie boy group formed through Mnet's 'Boys Planet' last year and officially debuted on January 12th of this year.
