Aldiwon's Kim Geonwoo Announces Hiatus

Kim Geonwoo, a member of the group ALPHA DRIVE ONE, will be temporarily suspending his activities. His agency, WAKEONE, announced that Kim Geonwoo is deeply reflecting on the situation and has decided to take time for self-reflection. Consequently, Kim Geonwoo will not participate in currently planned activities or the fan concert, and ALPHA DRIVE ONE will continue activities as a seven-member group for the time being.

WAKEONE explained that the online statements surrounding Kim Geonwoo were made in the form of muttering to himself without realizing the microphone was on during content filming before his debut. The agency stated that the remarks were not directed as criticism or personal attacks against any specific individual, and that the matter was resolved amicably with an apology to the production crew immediately after the incident. Furthermore, they denied that various other suspicions raised online, beyond this specific issue, are untrue.

Although Kim Geonwoo will be suspending his activities for the time being, broadcasts and content that were filmed before the suspension are expected to be released as scheduled. WAKEONE takes responsibility for not adequately managing artists to ensure they possess fundamental attitudes and standards, and announced that they will review internal and external communication methods and artist management systems, and strengthen training to prevent similar incidents from recurring.

WAKEONE apologized to fans for the delayed statement and expressed deep responsibility for failing to sufficiently fulfill their duty to support and manage a stable environment for their artists' activities. They apologized to on-site staff and fans for Kim Geonwoo's inappropriate remarks and explained that the delay in their statement was due to the lengthy verification process for the unfounded suspicions that were raised.
