K-Pop Group Mimi Rose Disbands After Producer Im Chang Jung Controversy

The girl group Mimi Rose is disbanding approximately four years after their debut. Member Yewon announced the disbandment through her social media, stating, "After much discussion, Mimi Rose has decided to go our separate ways. We are leaving the agency and will now stand at a new starting line as individuals, not as a team." Yewon added, "I know how deeply this farewell will wound all of you who have always given us more love than we deserved, so I am even hesitant to say I am sorry."

Yewon conveyed her final message to the fandom, 'Bloomy,' saying, "The time on stage where we dreamed together, Bloomy's gazes and voices were the happiest moments of my life. Although our journey together under the name Mimi Rose ends here, the moments we shared will not disappear." She also stated, "Thank you sincerely for always being by our side. We will strive to meet you again in our respective places, having become stronger."

Leader Yeonjae also announced the end of their group activities, saying, "I will continue to try to make these times not an end, but another beginning. I hope we can stand before our fans again with a better image someday." Member Jia also announced, "I recently left Mimi Rose, and my contract with the agency has also ended. This decision was made after much deliberation and discussion with the members over a sufficient period."

Mimi Rose, a group produced by singer Lim Chang-jung, garnered attention upon their debut in September 2022. However, the group faced a crisis when Lim Chang-jung became embroiled in a stock manipulation scandal. Subsequently, the five members transferred to Pocket7 Entertainment and announced their return as a seven-member group, but their activities were not smooth. Ultimately, they disbanded less than two years after embarking on a new start. Their final album, 'REEBON,' was released in August 2024.
