Japanese Drama Star Announces Marriage, Pregnancy

Japanese top actor Kamenashi Kazuya (40) has surprised fans with an announcement of his marriage and his partner's pregnancy. According to Japanese media Nikkan Sports on the 29th, Kamenashi Kazuya announced his marriage to former TBS announcer and actress Tanaka Minami (39), along with the news that she is pregnant, via his fan club website.

In a message to his fans, Kamenashi Kazuya stated, "I will be marrying Tanaka Minami. Furthermore, we are expecting a new life." Tanaka Minami also released a handwritten letter through her official website, sharing her thoughts: "Although we are still inexperienced, we will strive to improve as actors, parents, and individuals. I will approach all my activities with sincerity, and I ask for your continued encouragement."

The two first met during a fashion magazine photoshoot in 2023 and developed a romantic relationship after co-starring in the TV Asahi drama 'Destiny' in 2024. After approximately two years of dating, they have now tied the knot.

Kamenashi Kazuya joined Johnny's Office (now SMILE-UP.) in 1998 and was widely loved as a member of the group KAT-TUN from 2006 until last year. He has many fans in Korea due to dramas such as 'Gokusen 2', 'Nobuta wo Produce', and 'Drops of God'. Recently, he garnered attention for his leading role in the Japanese version of '​Stove League'. Tanaka Minami is a former TBS announcer who left the broadcasting station in 2014 to pursue an acting career.
