Sungri Wins Inaugural 'Nameless Legend' Championship

Singer Seong Ri has become the first winner of MBN's 'Nameless Legend', ending a long period of obscurity and becoming the '1st Legend'. The final episode, broadcast on the 13th, featured the second round of the finals, the 'Life's Masterpiece Mission'. Seong Ri chose Shin Yu's original song 'Ae-ga' and passionately sang a ballad for his mother.

Seong Ri took the stage in an all-white outfit and delivered the song with his characteristic delicate voice and deep emotion. His performance deeply touched the audience, and master Son Tae Jin praised him, saying, "With this performance, a true 'six-dimensional artist' seems to have been completed," and added, "Your gratitude for having a stage always resonates with the audience."

In a video released before the finals, Seong Ri was seen dining out with his mother. Seong Ri recalled his difficult past, saying, "My childhood goal was to treat my family to a meal. It feels like I'm only doing it now, and it seems very late." He also tearfully confessed a heartbreaking story about his mother leaving to buy strawberries and never returning for days, making him realize their divorce. He stated, "After my father passed away, I believe I am who I am today because my mother sacrificed for me. My biggest reason for applying to 'Nameless Legend' was my mother," conveying his determination for the finals.

Seong Ri won with an overwhelming score. He ranked first with a combined score of 1,984 points from the first and second rounds of the finals. He maintained his lead with 2,784 points in the interim tally, which included online fan voting, music video views, and music streaming scores. In the final real-time text message voting, he earned over twice as many points as the second-place contestant, securing the championship trophy with a final total of 4,784 points.

Upon being announced as the winner, Seong Ri expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you so much. Since I dreamed of becoming a singer, I experienced more setbacks than I expected. I realized how difficult and tough it was while challenging numerous auditions, and I even considered giving up my dream while learning a new wallpapering job." He added, "It feels so amazing and I'm so grateful that not giving up on my dream seems to have created this brilliant day."
