K-Drama Star Kang Mina Shines as Actress

Actress Kang Mina has reached a turning point in her acting career, proving her deepened acting skills through Netflix's first Korean Young Adult (YA) horror series, '​Gyeongseong Creature'.

In 'Gyeongseong Creature', Kang Mina plays 'Im Na-ri', who garners attention for her dazzling looks, comparable to an idol. 'Na-ri' is a character from a wealthy background but raised by two working parents, making her thirsty for love and attention. She sometimes causes misunderstandings due to her frank and uninhibited expressions.

Kang Mina naturally portrayed the 18-year-old girl 'Na-ri'. She subtly expressed various emotions such as her innocent demeanor in front of the boy she has a crush on, her jealousy when a friend steals her attention, her inferiority complex, and her anxiety, without being over the top.

In particular, Kang Mina presented a new side to viewers, unseen in her previous works, offering a fresh experience. She showcased a performance where she climbed onto a car hood with a fierce expression, smashed a window, and switched between two characters while possessed by a ghost, heightening viewer immersion with her extremely chaotic and fearful expressions.

Furthermore, Kang Mina received much praise for perfectly portraying the complex and subtle acting details, such as depicting the ever-changing character with just a look in her eyes, crying while laughing, shedding poignant tears, and then suddenly overpowering the other person with a venomous expression.
