Swings' Good Deeds Surface After Public Attack

Rapper Swings (real name Moon Ji-hoon) is at the center of controversy due to a conflict with fellow rapper Big Naughty, but stories of his past good deeds are spreading.

One netizen, who identified themselves as a working professional in their 30s, shared an anecdote from when they received hip-hop lessons from Swings in the past, recalling how Swings acknowledged their birthday and offered encouragement. The netizen also mentioned being impressed that Swings remembered them and sent a mobile gift certificate and a message of support when they informed him of their upcoming military enlistment. Another netizen shared their experience, stating that when they met Swings at an acquaintance's store, even when they jokingly said another rapper was better, Swings smiled and said, "Please view rap as just rap," indicating that he is not a person who can be easily criticized for his character.

Swings is currently drawing attention due to his conflict with rapper Big Naughty. On the 9th, Big Naughty released a diss track of about six minutes on stage at a club performance, criticizing Swings. On the 16th, he officially released the song and specifically raised suspicions about debt resolution through the sale of neighboring rights, inappropriate treatment of affiliated artists, and circumstances of violence.

In response, Swings explained during a live broadcast on the 16th that the financial allegations were untrue. He stated that he borrowed approximately 12 billion won from his agency, Kakao, and sold some music sources for about 14 billion won to secure artist profits, with 9 to 10 billion won of that amount belonging to the artists. Regarding the assault claims, he fully denied the allegations, stating, "Rather, the other party initiated physical action first, and the situation can be confirmed by CCTV."

Within the hip-hop scene, attention is focused on whether the revelations and counter-arguments from both sides will escalate into a legal dispute, such as actual litigation.
