Controversy is brewing over the name of BLACKPINK Jisoo's older brother appearing on the ending credits of the Netflix original series 'Monthly Boyfriend' before being corrected. Jisoo's side has denied any business involvement with her brother, but the credit notation error and subsequent correction have amplified suspicions.

Kim & Chang, the legal representative for Jisoo's agency, Blissoo, released an official statement asserting that the current family-related allegations are entirely unrelated to the artist and Blissoo, and that online content circulating is speculative or false. They further emphasized that Jisoo has lived separately from her family since childhood and, while her family provided limited advice during Blissoo's establishment, they received no compensation or participated in decision-making. Blissoo added that it has been managed independently without any involvement from family members.

However, the controversy continued as claims emerged that Jisoo's older brother's name appeared as 'Management Staff and CEO' in the ending credits of Netflix's 'Monthly Boyfriend' and Coupang Play's 'Newtopia,' both featuring Jisoo. Particularly in the case of 'Monthly Boyfriend,' the credits were reportedly changed to 'Blissoo Entertainment' without her brother's name after the controversy arose, further fueling suspicions. In response, it has been pointed out that Jisoo's side needs to provide a clear explanation regarding the possibility of a 'person with the same name' or the reasons for the correction.

This controversy erupted following recent reports that 'the older brother of a famous girl group member was booked on charges of sexual assault against a female BJ.' Allegations that the man in question was Jisoo's older brother surfaced, and the controversy spread when his wife exposed instances of assault and verbal abuse on social media. Jisoo, after denying any connection to her older brother, also canceled her scheduled airport departure press event.

A Netflix representative stated regarding the correction of the 'Monthly Boyfriend' credits, "In early March, immediately after the work's release, we confirmed an error in the actor's management notation due to a mistake by the production company and took immediate corrective action." This can be seen as a clarification supporting Jisoo's side's claim that her brother was not involved in Blissoo's management. However, some opinions suggest that further explanation is needed regarding the credit notation error and the correction process.
