Hwang Youngwoong Tops Charts, Kim Yongbin Chases

The final voting for the trot category of the '26th Korea Wave Entertainment Awards' is scheduled to conclude on Thursday, April 30th at 3 PM. Hwang Young-woong is currently leading with 71,867 votes, while Kim Yong-bin is in second place, closely pursuing with 48,405 votes. The difference between the two candidates is 23,462 votes. The gap between third-place Song Min-jun (4,823 votes) and fourth-place Park Seo-jin (3,952 votes) is 871 votes, indicating a fierce competition.

A total of 15 trot singers are competing in this final round, including Hwang Young-woong, Kim Yong-bin, Song Min-jun, and Park Seo-jin, as well as Son Tae-jin, Enoch, Jin Hae-seong, Choi Soo-ho, Lee Chan-won, Kim Jun-su, Park Ji-hyun, Kang Moon-kyung, Shin Seung-tae, Min Soo-hyun, and Jeong Dong-won. The final voting began on April 13th at 3 PM and will end on April 30th at 3 PM.

The artist who secures the final first place will receive an official award at the 2026 Korea Wave Entertainment Awards ceremony to be held at the National Assembly on May 23rd, along with external promotional rewards such as integrated advertising in New York's Times Square, digital advertising at the Han River Bus Mangwon Ferry NEW CASE pop-up zone, and the BNT SPOTLIGHT marketing package.

An industry insider analyzed, "As the final round progresses, the speed of fandom mobilization and new member acquisition are key variables that can change the rankings," adding, "The crucial factor will be which fandom demonstrates stronger determination in the remaining period." Voting can be participated in through two platforms: REMATCH and STARDOM.

Meanwhile, on SBS Life's 'The Trot Show,' Kim Yong-bin's 'Golden Spoon,' Ahn Sung-hoon's 'I Love You,' and Hwang Young-woong's 'Knitted Sweater' are competing for the number one spot. The 'The Trot Show' chart determines the final winner by combining pre-scores (which include music, social media, broadcast, and voting scores) with real-time voting results. Songs that achieve first place for three consecutive weeks are inducted into the Hall of Fame.
