JYP's Kim Minju Shock Ending: K-Drama Twist?

In JTBC's Friday series 'Shining,' Yeon Taeseo (played by Park Jinyoung) and Mo Euna (played by Kim Minju) shared a second breakup, bringing sadness to viewers. They experienced two partings, one at twenty and another at thirty.

At twenty, the two pursued their individual dreams, building lives in different places. Yeon Taeseo was living his university life in Seoul, while Mo Euna became a hotel intern in Gangneung. Their busy schedules made it difficult to meet. Even with the distance, Yeon Taeseo did his best to see Mo Euna, juggling classes and tutoring.

However, through her work at the hotel, Mo Euna felt she was getting closer to her dream of independence. While her feelings for Yeon Taeseo remained, she worried about him having to wait for her endlessly due to her demanding hotel schedule. Believing she couldn't take up any more of Yeon Taeseo's time, Mo Euna ultimately ended things first, and Yeon Taeseo accepted it.

Unlike their first breakup, which began with immature feelings, their second relationship was more poignant because they knew each other's worth, but it ultimately came to an end. Just as the two were trying to envision a future together again, new trials arose, such as Yeon Taeseo's grandmother falling ill and Mo Euna's Tongyeong stay being resolved.

Yeon Taeseo began to pay attention after learning from Park Sohyun (played by Kim Jihyun) that Mo Euna's past 10 years had been with Bae Seongchan (played by Shin Jaeha). When his grandmother became critically ill, he went to Mo Euna for strength, but was greatly shocked to see Bae Seongchan there. Tormented by the heavy reality and complex emotions, Yeon Taeseo ultimately let go of his relationship with Mo Euna, saying "It's overwhelming," rather than expressing his feelings.
