Seoul Music Awards: ALPHA DRIVE ONE Performance

The 35th Seoul Music Awards will be held on June 20 at the Inspire Arena in Yeongjongdo, Incheon. The awards ceremony is anticipating fierce competition in the Rookie Award category, with seven rookie groups, including Alpha Drive One, vying for the trophy. The Seoul Music Awards Rookie Award has been a gateway to stardom since its inception in 1990 with the late Shin Hae-chul, and a total of 91 teams have received the honor over the past 34 ceremonies.

Alpha Drive One recorded 1.44 million copies in initial sales with their debut album 'EUPHORIA', ranking second in K-pop debut initial sales history. They also held a long-term position in the upper ranks of the Japanese Oricon charts and achieved four music show wins with their title track 'FREAK ALARM'. They are currently in first place in the Rookie Award category for both the first and second rounds of fan voting for the main award and are gaining attention for their stage presence and powerful performances, which are unusual for a rookie group.

In addition, Close Your Eyes surpassed 1.2 million cumulative sales and swept eight rookie awards at other ceremonies. They proved their capabilities as artists with 'OVEREXPOSED', in which the members directly participated in lyric writing and choreography, and earned the title of 'complete idol' by showcasing diverse concepts through continuous comebacks.

The 24-member group idntt recorded over 700,000 initial sales with their unit albums 'unevermet' and 'yesweare', and took first place on a terrestrial broadcast with 'Pretty Boy Swag'. They have driven fan engagement with a gradual and fresh launching strategy and were recently named 'K-pop Rookie of the Month' by Billboard Korea.
