Hong Jin Kyung: Gangster Clash Incident Re-examined

Entertainer Hong Jin-kyung is drawing attention by revealing a past anecdote involving gangsters. This is being re-examined in light of Hong Jin-kyung's recent remarks defending Cho Sae-ho during the controversy surrounding his alleged ties to organized crime.

On her YouTube channel "Study King Jjin Genius Hong Jin-kyung," Hong Jin-kyung expressed sympathy for Cho Sae-ho, stating, "He's just a person who likes people. He can't refuse." She further defended him, saying, "​Sae-ho likes people, so he takes pictures and goes to drinking gatherings. He doesn't know who the other person is." Cho Sae-ho had previously left all the variety shows he was appearing on due to rumors of his involvement with organized crime.

Along with this, Hong Jin-kyung's 'Gangster of Seven' anecdote, which she personally revealed on a past broadcast, is also gaining attention again. Hong Jin-kyung stated on the broadcast, "​Even though I'm a woman, I once fought with seven gangsters. I don't back down."

At the time, Hong Jin-kyung was having a meal at a barbecue restaurant with her manager when a group of gangsters, who were having a company dinner, asked her for an autograph on a cigarette pack. Hong Jin-kyung kindly obliged, but when the other party immediately tore it up, she couldn't contain her anger.

Hong Jin-kyung recalled the situation, saying, "'If you're going to do that, why did you ask for an autograph?' I confronted them, and they responded with curses." She retorted, "'You look like gangsters, but your behavior is like local thugs'," recalling the situation. Ultimately, the group left without any further conflict, and the fact that Hong Jin-kyung did not back down at the time has drawn surprise.
