Moja Mussa Episode 5: Hwang Dongman's Presence
JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama "Everything We Loved" (tentatively titled "Moja Musssa"), starring Gu Kyo-hwan and Go Youn-jung, is seeing a rise in viewership ratings and resonating with audiences. According to Nielsen Korea, the drama's ratings, which started at 2.2% for the first episode, rebounded to 2.4% in the fourth episode, indicating an increase in viewer engagement as the characters' narratives begin to unfold. The drama is transforming the universal emotion of "worthlessness" into "comfort" through the profound insights of writer Park Hae-young, the delicate direction of director Cha Young-hoon, and the passionate performances of the actors.
In the third episode, Hwang Dong-man (Gu Kyo-hwan), who felt alienated by considering himself a "destructive human," discovered the humanity hidden within him through Byun Eun-a (Go Youn-jung). Byun Eun-a called Hwang Dong-man "a person with a thousand doors open," recognizing his wild humanity. Meanwhile, film director Park Kyung-se (Oh Jung-se) experienced rock bottom after his new film failed and his colleagues turned their backs on him. He was devastated to learn that Hwang Dong-man had written a significant portion of the negative reviews about him. Park Kyung-se pierced Hwang Dong-man's vulnerability by exclaiming, "You are nothing."

Hwang Dong-man, who had been struggling with his identity, reacted instinctively by rushing to save Byun Eun-a from an oncoming car at the end of the third episode, responding with "concern" and "surprise" rather than "destruction." His roar, "I am not a monster!", was a pivotal moment in breaking the chains of self-loathing. In response, Byun Eun-a offered him 500 won as a unique form of encouragement, foreshadowing their partnership in saving each other's worth.

The fourth episode further deepened the emotional bond between Hwang Dong-man and Byun Eun-a. Byun Eun-a confessed her deep-seated fears and helplessness, and Hwang Dong-man shared that he constantly talks to fight the monsters within him. Through his conversation with Byun Eun-a, Hwang Dong-man regained the strength to stand up again, and his unique comfort stopped Byun Eun-a's nosebleed. An awakened Byun Eun-a confidently confronted her boss and declared she was leaving early, while Hwang Dong-man also defied societal prejudice and shouted for his own happiness. During this, his brother Hwang Jin-man (Park Hae-joon) intervened, causing a commotion that led them to the police station.
The highlight of the fourth episode was the police station scene. When asked about his occupation, Hwang Dong-man faltered due to his "unemployment trauma," but Byun Eun-a appeared and confidently declared "film director" on his behalf, bestowing the most brilliant title upon Hwang Dong-man, whom society had labeled as "redundant." Afterward, a post exposing child neglect by national treasure actress Oh Jung-hee (Bae Jong-ok) surfaced, hinting that Oh Jung-hee might be the "mother" Byun Eun-a couldn't speak of, amplifying curiosity about future developments.
