Jeong Chang-gyu, the late Kim Soo-mi's husband and actor Seo Hyo-rim's father-in-law, has passed away at the age of 80.

The deceased passed away at 1:11 PM on the 4th due to complications from diabetes. This is approximately 1 year and 7 months after his wife, Kim Soo-mi, passed away on October 25, 2024, due to hyperglycemic shock.

The deceased met Kim Soo-mi through singer Jeong Hoon-hee in 1974 and they married, having one son and one daughter. Kim Soo-mi had previously expressed deep gratitude on broadcasts for her husband not interfering with her social activities or managing their finances.

The deceased's son, Jeong Myeong-ho, CEO of Napaljjok F&B, married actor Seo Hyo-rim, who played mother and daughter with Kim Soo-mi in a drama, forming a harmonious acting family.
The deceased's wake has been set up in Room 9 of the Hanyang University Hospital Funeral Hall in Seoul, and the funeral procession will be held at 9:40 AM on the 6th. The interment will be at the Suwon City Crematorium.
