Lee Jin-ho Hospitalized in ICU After Brain Hemorrhage

Comedian Lee Jin-ho (40) collapsed due to an acute cerebral hemorrhage and is currently receiving inpatient treatment in the intensive care unit. His agency, SM C&C, announced on the 9th, "Lee Jin-ho suffered a cerebral hemorrhage earlier this week," adding, "His life is not in danger."

Lee Jin-ho lost consciousness suddenly at the time of the incident and was immediately taken to the hospital. He is reportedly recovering under the care of his family, receiving intensive treatment. He lost consciousness and collapsed at his home a week ago and was transported to a university hospital in Seoul for intensive care. He has since regained consciousness but is currently undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit.

Lee Jin-ho debuted as an SBS special recruit comedian in 2005 and gained immense popularity for his character "Woongi's Father" on "Uchutsa." He later became known for appearing on various entertainment programs such as JTBC's "Knowing Bros" and tvN's "Comedy Big League."

However, Lee Jin-ho voluntarily confessed in 2020 to engaging in illegal online gambling, and during this process, he also revealed that he had incurred significant debt and received financial assistance from acquaintances. The police forwarded him to the prosecution on charges of gambling under the Criminal Act without detention. Furthermore, in September of last year, while in a period of self-reflection for illegal gambling, he was caught driving under the influence and was also sent to the prosecution on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act. He is accused of driving approximately 100km from Incheon to Yangpyeong while intoxicated. Due to these incidents, he had suspended his broadcasting activities.
