Galaxy, Baekhyun Contract Rumors Officially Denied

Singer G-Dragon's agency, Galaxy Corporation, has officially denied rumors about contract discussions with Baekhyun, a member of the group EXO. A representative from Galaxy Corporation stated on the 22nd, "The reports regarding exclusive contract discussions with Baekhyun are not true." Previously, one media outlet reported that Baekhyun was in discussions with Galaxy Corporation about an exclusive contract and was in the coordination phase, but the matter was concluded as a misunderstanding following Galaxy Corporation's denial. Baekhyun is currently active as a member of the EXO unit group Chenbaekxi (Chen, Baekhyun, Xiumin).

Currently, Chenbaekxi, to which Baekhyun belongs, has notified its agency INB100 of contract termination. It is known that Chenbaekxi decided to terminate the contract after two weeks passed without receiving a satisfactory response to their demands for settlement and breach of contract from the agency. In response, the agency stated, "We are working towards normalizing the company and will resolve this by receiving additional investment or by using our personal funds." INB100 was established by Baekhyun in preparation for his independence from SM Entertainment and was incorporated as a subsidiary of One Hundred, led by CEO Cha Ga-won, in May 2024.

Galaxy Corporation's roster includes G-Dragon, Taemin, Kim Jong Kook, and actor Song Kang Ho. Notably, Taemin was previously under Big Planet Made, a label under the same umbrella as Baekhyun, but he declared contract termination due to issues such as unpaid settlements and moved agencies. Against this backdrop, Baekhyun's rumored transfer to Galaxy Corporation gained traction, but it has been confirmed as baseless due to denials from both parties.

Meanwhile, Baekhyun established his independent label INB100 in 2024 and began activities as Chenbaekxi with Chen and Xiumin. INB100 was later incorporated as a subsidiary of One Hundred, but it is currently facing instability due to management issues and the consecutive departures of its artists. The company's credibility has been impacted by controversies over unpaid settlements and suspicions surrounding its management, and amidst this, Chenbaekxi's notification of contract termination has drawn significant attention from within and outside the industry.
