Wrestler Shim Kwon Ho Admits 53 Years of Being Single

Shim Kwon-ho confessed that he has been a "mother-solos" (someone who has never dated) for 53 years. He recently underwent surgery for liver cancer and is recovering. A TV Chosun entertainment program, "Joseon's Lovers," depicted him traveling to Jeju Island.

On the broadcast, Shim Kwon-ho confided in Choi Hong-man about his difficulties communicating with women. When Choi Hong-man said, "I find it easier to talk to women than men," Shim Kwon-ho replied, "I'm the opposite. I only have men around me, and it's hard for me to talk to women." He expressed his frustration, saying he usually answers questions with short, one-word responses.

Choi Hong-man advised that to get closer to women, it's important to listen to them a lot and respond positively. However, Shim Kwon-ho revealed his deep 고민 (worry/concern), saying he doesn't know how to date women. Choi Hong-man was so surprised by his confession of being a 53-year-old mother-solo that he choked.

Shim Kwon-ho revealed that he received ginseng as a gift from a female fan while battling liver cancer. Yoon Jung-soo and Choi Hong-man suggested he send her some omegi tteok (a type of rice cake) since they were in Jeju, but Shim Kwon-ho, unaccustomed to communicating with women, struggled even to send a text message, stammering his words. Choi Hong-man offered advice on natural text message phrasing to help him.

Shim Kwon-ho honestly stated that replying to a female fan is itself an expression of interest. He boasted about receiving a reply of "Tteok is good" from the female fan. The preview heightened anticipation by showing him waiting for someone with a large bouquet of flowers and smiling brightly at a shout of "Oppa!"
