Taehyun stated that the members shared stories about their lives and music through long interviews with the production team, and because the members' thoughts were similar, they decided to capture the past seven years in the album. Huening Kai shared that the process of realizing their stories into an album was fresh and amazing. Beomgyu added that he wanted to honestly include not only happy moments but also times of anxiety and contemplation.

This 8th mini-album is the first group album released by the members since re-signing with their agency, Big Hit Music, in August of last year. The album contains universal emotions that anyone can relate to, such as anxiety and emptiness about the future, and the members' direct participation in theme selection, lyric writing, and composition added sincerity.
