BTS Gwanghwamun 7-Member Full Group Stage

The comeback concert of the group BTS in Gwanghwamun is drawing attention as a symbolic event showcasing Korea's cultural influence, going beyond a mere K-pop concert. Indeed, overseas fans are deeply immersing themselves in Korean culture through BTS. Ami Ostrovskaya, who came to study from Russia, stated, "BTS is the reason I came here," and revealed that she began learning Korean history and culture. Fans, including a Mexican teacher and a German architect, who couldn't get tickets, still visited the vicinity of the concert venue to feel the atmosphere, demonstrating their fervent interest in BTS.

Through these fan reactions, BBC emphasized that BTS is a cultural driving force expanding Korea's soft power, beyond being just a popular singer. This concert is the first performance by the full seven members since October 2022, and it will feature songs from their new album, 'Arirang.' The album title 'Arirang' is taken from Korea's representative folk song and symbolizes the point where Korean tradition meets modernity.

The concert is expected to last about an hour, and the Seoul Metropolitan Government anticipated that approximately 260,000 people would gather in the Gwanghwamun area. The number of people entering the actual concert venue will be limited to about 22,000, while the remaining audience will watch the performance via large screens or Netflix live streaming.

This concert holds significant meaning as it is the first stage with all seven members in three years and nine months, marking the end of a hiatus due to military service. BTS will unveil their new songs for the first time and have previewed a large-scale performance involving dancers and a traditional Korean music ensemble.
