Yoona Considering 'Unnatural' Korean Remake Role

Im Yoona, a member of Girls' Generation and an actress, has been offered the lead role in the Korean adaptation of the Japanese drama '​Unnatural' and is positively considering it.

A representative from Im Yoona's agency, SM Entertainment, stated on the 9th that Im Yoona received an offer to appear in 'Unnatural' and is positively reviewing it.

The original 'Unnatural', which aired on Japan's TBS in 2018, is a mystery medical drama where forensic pathologists uncover the truth behind incidents hidden within unnatural deaths. The drama received positive reviews in Korea for its solid script and the actors' passionate performances.

The rights contract for the Korean adaptation of 'Unnatural' was signed in 2022 between Big Wave Entertainment and Neostory and the Japanese TBS broadcasting station. The remake will be helmed by Director Park Yoo-young, who directed ENA's 'The Kidnapping Day' and other works.

Im Yoona is reportedly offered the role of the UDI forensic pathologist, a role played by Satomi Ishihara in the original. Attention is focused on whether Im Yoona, who has been active in romantic comedy genres, can showcase a transformation in her acting through the genre drama 'Unnatural'.
