Weverse Con Voting Booth Blocked by Protest

The music festival '2026 Weverse Con Festival,' hosted by HYBE and its fan platform Weverse, has modified some operational policies due to protests near the event venue. Weverse Con announced on its official website that it is adjusting its operational plans to ensure attendee safety and a smooth event experience.

Consequently, the Ticketlink Live Arena (Handball Stadium), which was scheduled as the location for collecting admission wristbands, will not be operational. Visitors with Green Pass, Green Pass Day+, and Green Pass Night+ tickets must exchange their wristbands at the Weverse Park main gate. Those with general concert tickets and concert ticket+ tickets can enter after ticket verification at their respective Weverse Con gates without needing to exchange for a separate wristband.

Furthermore, the operation of experience zones, such as the tattoo sticker experience zone that was planned to be set up at the Ticketlink Live Arena, has also been changed. This measure appears to be aimed at minimizing confusion for attendees due to the protests surrounding the venue.

This change in operational policy is due to ongoing protests since the 5th near the Handball Stadium in Olympic Park, condemning the shortage of ballots for the June 3rd local elections and demanding a re-election. As protesters surrounded the vote counting center and blocked the removal of ballots, changes to the movement routes for Weverse Con attendees, scheduled to be held at Olympic Park on the 6th and 7th, became unavoidable.

The number of protesters increased to approximately 6,000 by around 10 PM on the 5th, and they are continuing their occupation of the vote counting center by forming a human chain. This has caused disruptions to the movement of National Election Commission staff and others, and the police are strengthening on-site control. Concerns are also being raised about potential clashes with Weverse Con attendees during the weekend if the protests are prolonged.
