Lee Seo Jin Returns to KBS After 10 Years

Actors Lee Seo-jin and Ko Asung will appear on KBS 1TV's current affairs program 'Achim Madang'. This marks Lee Seo-jin's first appearance on a KBS program in over 10 years, and it is the first time the two actors will be on broadcast together. The Tuesday segment of 'Achim Madang', 'Famous People Together', is a talk show format where celebrities and those close to them appear to share behind-the-scenes stories and the inner workings of their relationships, with comedian Jung Tae-ho as a regular panelist.

Lee Seo-jin and Ko Asung will make their theatrical stage debuts side-by-side in the play 'Uncle Vanya'. Lee Seo-jin, who is celebrating his 27th anniversary since his debut, has been active in dramas and films but this is his first play, and Ko Asung will also be making her theater debut with this production. The two actors will play the main characters Vanya and his niece Sonya, respectively, and plan to honestly share their experiences and thoughts on preparing for the play through the broadcast.

The broadcast is also expected to highlight the special friendship between Lee Seo-jin and Kim Kwang-gyu. The two, who are four years apart in age and have a senior-junior relationship, are known for their unique dynamic where Lee Seo-jin treats Kim Kwang-gyu like a younger brother. They recently worked together on the entertainment program 'My Manager is Too Mean, Secretary Jin' and received great love from viewers.

Ko Asung is scheduled to share her feelings and the process of joining a work by Anton Chekhov, whom she has admired. Her wide acting spectrum, honed since her days as a child actress, and stories about her human relationships are expected to bring viewers both entertainment and emotion. The production team stated that viewers can first encounter the sincere stories and special chemistry of Lee Seo-jin and Ko Asung through 'Achim Madang'.

Meanwhile, Lee Sang-min received his first-ever Grand Prize at the ‘2025 SBS Entertainment Awards’. He won the trophy for his work on programs like ‘My Little Old Boy’ and ‘Dolsing Four Men’, beating out strong competitors such as Yoo Jae-suk and Shin Dong-yup. This achievement comes 10 years after his return to SBS entertainment.
