Yoo Yeonseok & Lee Se Young: Joseon Romance

Actors Yoo Yeon-seok and Lee Se-young will be working together for the first time in the romance historical drama 'The Princess and the Scholar'. Both actors recently received script offers for this drama and have decided to appear after positively reviewing them.

'The Princess and the Scholar' is based on a webtoon of the same name and is a traditional romance historical drama that combines palace romance with political historical drama. The drama tells the story of Princess Eun-myeong, the king's daughter, who lived a lonely life in the palace after losing her mother, the queen, at a young age. She decides to marry Scholar Kim Seo-yul, whom she falls in love with at first sight. However, family conflicts and a fated animosity exist between the two, leading to unexpected power struggles. The story of the princess and the scholar falling in love without knowing each other's future is reminiscent of 'Joseon's Romeo and Juliet'.

Lee Se-young will play Princess Eun-myeong, who grew up lonely but is strong-willed and curious. Yoo Yeon-seok will play Seo-yul, the second son of the Left State Councilor, a "mom-friend-rich" character with handsome looks and a sharp mind, who pushes the princess away as she gets closer. This is the first time the two actors will meet as romantic leads, and expectations are high for their chemistry.

Currently, director Moon Hyun-sung is expected to direct 'The Princess and the Scholar', and discussions are underway regarding TV channel broadcasting. Yoo Yeon-seok is currently appearing in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Shin and Law Firm' and is awaiting the release of MBC's new drama 'Liar'. Lee Se-young is scheduled to present the Disney+ series 'The Remarried Empress' this year.
