Go Soo, Seo Ji Hye Star in K-Drama Melodrama Thriller

The Wavve original series 'Revers' is a mystery revenge thriller about Myojin (Seo Ji-hye), who loses her memory after being caught in a chaebol family's villa explosion, as she tries to regain her memories to uncover the secrets of her mysterious fiancé Junho (Ko Soo) and the truth behind the accident. It is a new 8-part series based on the acclaimed audio movie of the same name from 2022.

Director Im Geon-joong stated that while adapting the audio movie into a visual format, the overall story changed, and the narrative was strengthened by adding elements of revenge. He emphasized that he wanted to fill the journey to the twists and turns dynamically and excitingly as a mystery thriller, and focused on creating an ensemble of diverse elements such as melodrama, crime, comedy, and action, along with strong characters, to complement the protagonists. He also highlighted that the moment the protagonist regains her memories and confronts the truth was crucial to the directorial execution.

Seo Ji-hye, who plays the protagonist Myojin, revealed that she decided to appear in the series because the unfolding plot was intriguing, and she wanted to challenge herself with the complex and subtle emotional expression required to portray two characters simultaneously within one person. Regarding her portrayal of the multi-faceted character, she explained, "​I tried to first consider how Myojin would feel and act at this moment, following the flow of the script, and I wanted to express the feeling of the past and present Myojin connecting into one as time passes."

Ko Soo, who plays the male lead Junho, shared his reason for joining the project, saying that as he read the script, he kept imagining how Junho would act in various situations and naturally became immersed in the story. He showed affection for the character by discussing Junho's background, childhood, and the backstory not shown in the drama extensively with the director. Ko Soo views Junho as a character who cannot be defined by a single aspect, and explained, "​I wanted to create the character by focusing on his transformation as he faces the events and as time passes, and the emotions that arise at each moment."

Seo Ji-hye pointed to the drama's continuous twists and turns as a key viewing point for 'Revers', and asked viewers to look forward to the fun of finding clues to hidden secrets and the emotions and psychology of Junho as portrayed by Ko Soo. Ko Soo also suggested that it would be enjoyable to pay attention to why each character makes certain choices and takes specific actions, presenting understanding the characters' emotions and psychology within the context of the events and relationships as a viewing point.
